2nd Notification Letter Arrived from the KCC
November 7th, 2007 . by adminI just stopped by to check my PO Box and have finally received my 2nd Notification Letter fro the Kentucky Consular Center!!
SO exciting and scary at the same time - although not as heart racing as the first letter!!
Items inside the KCC envelope:
2nd Notification Letter
My second DV Lottery Notification Letter (NL) is dated October 16th, 2007.
Notice to Visa Applicants
This sheet usually states the information you still need to provide to the KCC/Consulate. It doesn’t say anything on mine because I completed my initial forms in full.
Medical Forms
These are double-sided forms which must be completed by the consulate pre-approved medical examiner. You take them with you to your medical check appointment, the doctor fills it all in then gives it back to you with the required x-ray and test results. You then take this stuff with you on the day of your consulate interview.
Information Document
This is a multi-page document containing all of the information relevant to the 2nd stage in the DV Lottery process. It details which documents you are required to gather and present at your consulate interview and how to compile or obtain them. It lists information on how to obtain a police check, where you should get it done, and how much it costs. It also provides a list of the approved doctors in each state and their contact details. Again, there are detailed instructions on the US passport sized photographs we need to take with us to the medial exam and to the consulate interview.
The Interview
My interview is scheduled in Sydney in early December but I am emailing the consulate to request a change. The interview date falls right in the middle of a very important business conference I’m attending in Canberra. Hoping they will be kind enough to reschedule the interview to a day just before or after the conference in order to avoid paying for two flights up there within a month - I need to reserve my savings for the interview itself!
To the Aussies reading this… leave a comment here when you get your 2nd Notification Letter - perhaps us Melbournites should have a meet up to chat about this visa stuff everyone else in our lives doesn’t really seem to understand?
Where To From Here?
- confirm previous vaccinations
- book medical check
- book police check
- book flights
- collect, copy and organise all relevant documents
- save, save, save
I hope everything going on over the next two months will all fall into place with little stress! :s
Good luck to those of you still waiting!!
Hi
How did your interview go?
